There is so much going on here.
So many things to share (when the time is right).
For now I am trying to seek out some time to contemplate the meaning of this Easter season....which is too important to just let pass by.
He Is Risen!
Easter Blessings to you and your family!

We All Scream....

You mix up the batter of egg yolks and a little sugar....add the heated half and half....and then heat a little longer....return it to the mixer and
mix in cream, vanilla and a little salt...
heat it a little more....
then store it in your refrigerator at least 6-8 hours....

Then you take the mixing bowl out of the freezer...
and in 20-30 minutes you can
'Scream for ice cream!!!'

(Your family will be thrilled...and so will you!)

I am so glad I cooked up a double batch!
(My Twin Sister deserves full credit for this ice cream making wonder....and she will be the first one to tell you!)

Forever Nine

For those of you who read of our grief when Carter died, here are the results of the sentencing hearing.
It has been almost 5 months now....the family continues to need and appreciates your prayers.
(Carter is my cousin's oldest son and my sister's nephew)

Legitimate Excuses

I have been gone from my blog for a whole week!
What have I been doing?
I spent two days preparing for a houseful of company.
They stayed 3 days.
Then I spent 2 days recovering.

It was our annual basketball weekend.
This year we only had one team.
They never practiced together,
but ended up bringing home this amusing trophy in their division.

There were 28 people to plan food for, but only 12 slept here.
That wasn't bad.
What was "bad" was our dog.
Notice how skinny she looks.
After 3 days without eating and hardly able to drink, we knew we had to take her in.
She eats socks.
They usually make a re-appearance.
This time was different.
She needed surgery.
She had eaten a glove.
She looks happy here because I didn't put that ridiculous funnel collar back on her yet....(she chews on her stitches).

After things settled down a little, we did find some Family Game time.
Some games are much more entertaining when my Dad plays.  :)

Yesterday we had balmy weather and enjoyed our youngest daughter's track meet.
Last night Friendie spent the night.
See....I really do have "legitimate excuses"!!!

What Does 47 Feel Like?

Funny thing....
47 feels a lot like 27....
it just LOOKS different.

I will be celebrating with my twin sister tonight.
The rest of the family will be here for the weekend.
Friendie will be making us some of his specialty cuppy cakes....I will make sure to post a picture of those soon. :)

Crazy Wind

To say that it is a windy day would be an understatement.
The wind is crazy today.
Thankfully we didn't get any snow in the night, or we would have blizzard conditions for sure.
The sun is shining.
Friendie and I will enjoy an inside day together.
We will talk about the wind and the sunshine....
and I will let him play with my little windmill...
he will think it is awesome.
I love his excitement over little things....
I want to be just like him!!!

Inside The Curio

A curio cabinet sits in the corner of my dining room.
Inside is full of treasures.
Some of them are mine, some of them belong to my children....all of them I hope get passed on some day.

I probably should use the Pink Clover Depression cups...a gift from my husband when we lived in North Dakota...but that would mean transferring them out of the "keepsakes" into the china hutch....and well....the china hutch is rather full. :)

I did take out a few things not long ago....to make room for some new additions that had more sentimental value.

There are a few more things I could "weed out", but I am rather sentimental.
Hopefully there will be another "sentimental soul" in my family who will care for the treasures when I am finished enjoying them.

Thank you for following along with me even when my updates are few.

The names drawn from my two give-a-ways are:
The Pure Linen towel will be sent to Barb and the Angel Stamps will be moving over to Laurie's house.
Thanks to all who took time to leave a comment.
