Auction Fun

I went to a consignment auction last night. I saw this old rocking chair....which was made just my size. It is sooo comfortable! I knew I needed it for my sewing room......so I waited....and waited....and 4 hours later....it came home with me....for only $45 !!! I might even be motivated to sit and work on my needle turn applique skills (I need lots of practice). :)

Kurbits & Berries

I picked up this kit at our local quilt show last month. My life has been rather crazy lately and I hate to admit it....but I forgot I bought it. I found the bag a few days ago when I was organizing my sewing room (which doubled as a guest room this Memorial weekend). I am eager to get the pattern pieces cut out of this great wool and get the runner on my table or shelf. This pattern came from Willow Wood Market

I have not been able to spend any time sewing this past week because I have been busy getting ready for my Friendie's 1st Birthday! He had an allergic reaction to something right before I took this photo.....he went from his cake photo to the bathtub while Grampie (who is a MD) made a quick run for some medicine. About an hour later the little guy was back to celebrating his special day.

Finally -- Springtime

Finally - I can hang out my quilts without having them freeze to the line. Finally - I can leave my green house plants outside without a danger of frost (like this last weekend).

And Finally - I can take my Friendie (Grandson) outside and let the wind blow through his hair (don't worry, it really wasn't windy....that is his new hairdo). It sure took a long time for Spring to come to Minnesota this year.

What Would You Bid?

Little Sister (who turns 14 today) offered to make a batch of cookies for a "House-Raising" auction held at church yesterday. I will be going with a group to Mexico in October to build a house for a needy family. Her ginger cookies turned out fabulous!
They brought in a generous donation toward the building materials....thank you Little Sister!

Quilting Bloggers Inspire Me

I have recently entered into the exciting lives of some great quilting bloggers. I have to say, when I am looking for some inspiration or just looking to get motivated to spend some time in my sewing room, I check out Bonnie's blog over at Quiltville. One late night, when I couldn't sleep and had already checked out the latest blogs of my family and friends, I clicked on some of Bonnie's blogging friend's links. One link lead to another. Now, I am eager to watch their progress and join in the cyber world of the sisterhood of quilters. I hope to have some projects to post....if nothing else.....some progress to be accountable for! :)
If anyone out there actually finds my blog, please leave me a comment.
