Why Did I Wait 8 Years???

Two of these "beauties" have graced the main hall in our home - probably since 1962. We have lived here for 8 years now..... What in the world was I waiting for??? Today I bought two of these.....now aren't they lovely? :)
There is another light fixture that has got to go.....tomorrow morning.....before I put it off for another 8 years!

Twas The Night Before Christmas - at least it will be soon!!!

I need to finish up my projects from the past week so I have something interesting to blog about. The one interesting thing I could pass on to you is this super adorable BOM coming from Helen at Hugs-n-kisses. Maybe doing it as a block of the month will help me get it done in time for the holidays! Maybe you would like to join in the fun!

Thank You Edith!

Today my mailman brought me a package.....I was a winner in Edith's give-a-way! After being really sick the past 5 days, I was thrilled to get something fun and inspiring in the mail. This doll blanket will now live with my favorite doll from childhood.....who still gets played with when my great niece comes to visit.
I want to hole up in my sewing room later today and find something fun to do with these fabrics!
Thank you Edith for your generous give-a-way. I am hoping this week will turn out better than your last week. :)

Daisy Quilts May Give-A-Way --- In June

Robyn at Daisy Quilts has a fun give-a-way going on. She has been so helpful in answering my many blogging questions....such a help for this "Rookie". Take a moment and check out her blog and leave her a comment. What an example of blogger mentor! Thank you Robyn!

Quilt Shops To Explore

I live in a small community in Minnesota. We have one quilt shop, which is rather "limited".....but I do give them a lot of business because I try to shop locally whenever possible. But, my absolute favorite shop is just a pleasant drive from here to Perham, MN. Bay Window Quilts is a fabulous shop! I am inspired just walking in the front door......and of course I never leave without a bag in each hand. :) If you want to get to know them a little, check out Katie's blog.
I live a short drive from the Fargo/Moorhead area, so you would think I would have some wonderful shops to explore.....well....not in Fargo.....and only one in Moorhead. Last weekend I went to The Quilted Ladybug with my friend Lisa. It is a quaint little shop and we both found something to bring home. Lisa bought the kit for the quilt hanging to the left in this photo....I am not sure the name of the pattern, but it had something to do with coffee or latte. :)
I picked up this kit.....for 40% off....how fun it that!

I Just Couldn't Help Myself

I thought the Old Red Barn Co.'s Quilt Along sounded like a lot of fun....so I went out today and purchased my 12 fabrics (plus a binding fabric). Our local quilt shop doesn't offer as many fabrics as I would like, but I did find these Paisley Party prints by Terry Atkinson and Liz Lois for Red Rooster Fabrics. It isn't too late to join if you want to get in on the fun! Click on the button on the right if you want to learn more. :)
