We have been in Wisconsin for a few days.
I grew up in Wisconsin.
My Grandpa use to drive a milk truck for the Nelson Creamery.
The milk he hauled was used to make cheese.
I remember Grandpa coming home with a hunk of cheese wrapped in white paper.
Most of the time we really liked the cheese he brought home.
Our favorite was the cheese curds!
Although you can no longer watch the cheese curds being made, the Nelson Creamery has evolved into a quaint store and eatery.
And when the sun is shining and the temps are in the 90's....
it is a great place to stop for ice cream!
So many things have changed over the years.
Sometimes it is fun to notice something that hasn't.

What a sweet memory! I love cheese curds! When we go to Canada in the summer it is one of our favorite treats.
This post brought me lots of memories: Grandpa drove a milk truck, had an egg business and we had our milk delivered for many years into the silver box on the porch. I miss that bottled delight every other morning. Thanks for sharing those super pics.

Am just finally getting caught up on blog reading aftern 10 days in your state that included the torrential rains. We were driving up to my sis's cabin near Hibbing and had to stop for awhile till it let up a little. Didn't know you grew up in WI; me, too and I loved visiting my G'pa's farm near Appleton. 4 folks from our family ran the Chicago Half Marathon in 2009; at least it's a relatively flat course, unlike what I imagine Duluth's would be like. So sad about all the flooding there.
We always called cheese curds squeaky cheese.
