When Accidents Affect Us

The news is full of tragic accidents daily.  I usually offer up a quick prayer for the family when I hear of one....and then go about my day.  But on Tuesday, when the accident involved family, it was almost impossible to just go about my day....my week.  There is such a feeling of helplessness when you are not able to be there in person.  I will go next week for the Memorial service....sooner if I am needed.
The previous music video was meant for my family blog, but ended up here by accident....but I chose to leave it....it is comforting.
I have included a link to one of the many news stories about the accident for any of you who may be wondering about the situation.  And I thank those of you who have said a prayer for the family.

I know exactly what you mean. When you read/hear news stories about a tragic crash like this you feel a moment of saddness for the family but it is not personal. "A 9-year-old boy was killed" instead of a mother's first-born or her cherished baby. I, too, had one of those stories become personal...The "37-year-old man" was my brother, my mother's beloved son, my sister-in-law's husband and four children's father. Thanks for your post that reminds us that these tragedies go so far beyond a 90-second news story.

I'm really sorry for your family's loss. No one should ever have to experience the loss of a child.

Thanks for the link. It's just such a waste of a young life. No mother should ever have to bury her child! :0(

This is so sad. No one should lose a loved one by a drunk driver.......
Send a prayer
My thoughts are with the mother and your whole family

So sorry to hear this news. Absolutely senseless passing at the hands of a drunk driver who had all those DUI's!
We hear this on the news...but it is life lasting for the parents and all who loved and cherished the little angel. Blessings.

I can't really add to what the others have said, but my heart aches for your family's loss. I don't know what can be done about drunk drivers....but the problem is getting out of control, that's for sure. Even when their licenses get taken, they drive anyway. Please know many are praying for your family.

My heart is feeling so broken. What an unecessary thing to have happen. (It really ticks me off actually) That is so nice that they are a part of a church body to help support them. I'm praying for you too. It's hard to be away, but hard to be close too.
