Hippie Days

I just wanted to comment on my new blog photo. I found this in a drawer at my parent's house during my last visit. I remember riding around the yard in this wagon on the back of my young aunts motor bike.....she was what I would kindly call a "Hippie". It was a lot of fun, but really....how dangerous!!!!!

Puppy Daze

Bella is adjusting to her new life with us....and we are adjusting to life with a puppy in the house. She is a puppy....and if she isn't chewing on her toys.....she may be trying to nibble on these!!!!
(For those wondering why I let Friendie sit on a rolling pin.....I put the rolling pin under his knees to keep his little bottom from slipping out of the old high chair....just like my Grandma did for me 45 years ago).

Autumn Flowers

I have been stopping at the nearby outdoor produce stand all summer to pick up fresh goodies for my family's meals. But, this is what I really enjoy stopping for....clusters of flowers and pumpkins and gourds to decorate for fall! I came home with this lovely arrangement yesterday and it made me feel so good that I hurried back to buy another bunch to sneak over to my daughter's kitchen table.
Who could resist these for only $4. :)

Chick-a-dee Hollow

Carol over at Chick-a-dee Hollow has some wonderful goodies. I have had one of her kits in my "project pile" for exactly one year now. I pulled it out tonight to get familiar with the instructions. I decided to look up the web site and I am blown away with all the great items she has designed (and has for sale). I just had to share this with all of you! I haven't read much of her blog yet, but I plan on settling in with a good cup of coffee and getting to know her better real soon. :)

Sewing Space Change

I finally got my sewing space moved to our upstairs bedroom. I found projects I didn't even remember I had.....some were exciting.....some were embarrassing. I found a log cabin pumpkin table topper that I think I sewed 3 years ago....time to get that one quilted so I can actually use it this year.
The room is split in the middle because of the fireplace chimney. On one side I have my sewing machine, cutting table and ironing board. I also have a fun old Hoosier cabinet that I store "supplies" in. You all know what that means.....all that fabric we like to keep hidden from our husband's view. :) On the other side of the room I have my drawing table, a scrap booking desk (built in the corner) and my quiet time chair. You may also notice the baby crib.....my little Friendie takes his naps in my sewing room. I should also mention this room has an awesome closet....and you all know what I have stored in there.....more of those "supplies".
We have had a houseful of people this weekend, but tomorrow is my day (after I pay the bills anyway). I plan on spending my whole day locked away in my new space.....maybe I will even have something to show for it at the end of the day!
